Jon Fredrikson’s four decades in the wine business include wine company line management, consulting on a broad spectrum of industry matters and winery industry M&A activity. A former Naval Officer, Jon holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Colby College and was a Fulbright Scholar in economics prior to receiving an MBA from Columbia University.
Before acquiring Louis R. Gomberg's consulting practice in 1983, Jon spent thirteen years in the wine divisions of Joseph E. Seagram & Sons. There, he acquired diversified management experience in finance, administration, sales and marketing and ultimately became an Executive Vice President of The Seagram Wine Company. Jon's work with Lou Gomberg in the ten years following the acquisition furnished him with an invaluable historical perspective on the industry.
A recognized authority on the wine industry, Jon Fredrikson has been one of the most quoted sources in stories about the U.S. wine business over the years. The Economist magazine called him “the leading authority on industry trends.” He has also been quoted in Forbes, Fortune, the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Time Magazine and the Wall Street Journal. He wrote the chapter on wine consumption trends in Jansis Robinson’s Oxford Companion to the Wines of North America.
Jon Fredrikson has addressed major wine industry groups in California, Washington, New York and in Spain, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina. Jon also speaks professionally at private marketing and sales meetings where he provides insights on the latest wine business and marketing developments.
Jon has served on the Board of Directors or Advisors of six California wineries.
Eileen Fredrikson graduated from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley. Before her role as Vice President of client Services, she was Director of Operations for Joseph Magnin, a 50-store specialty retailer. Her retail management experience included executive positions in human relations, sku systems & training, consumer-direct sales, distribution systems and store design. Eileen was President of the American Institute of Wine & Food (NorCal Chapter) where she created and directed the AIWF NorCal Wine School programs. She is a former National board member of Women for WineSense and currently serves on the Wine Institute Research and Communications Committees.
